The creation of an exhibition about the naval history of the area, was a long-standing demand of the local society at Vatika. With funding from the LEADER program, Axis 4 RDP 2007-2013, the old school of Neapoli (Laconia - Southeastern part of the Peloponnese) hosts the Museum of Maritime Tradition.
OIKOM along with TETRAGON made the museologic and museographic design and implemented the permanent construction of the exhibition.
In the exhibition displayed the close and enduring relationship of the area with the sea. In an aesthetically complete, modern, safe and well organized way, the past related to the future to highlight the important aspects of Greek marintime history related to Vatika.
The Environmental Interpretation System, include display surfaces, stage designs, dioramas, reconstructions and digital applications as means to describe, interpret and integrate the elements of the shared past in to the current way of life.
The basic objective of the project is the operation of the Museum at different levels of information and interpretation. In this context, emphasis is often given on invisible ties between the wealth of Greek Naval History, as those associated with the cultural biography of the people and the ways of marine resources exploitation.
