The WikiKythnos project was a set of activities and workshops of an educational and collaborative nature, within the scope of the Wikipedia online encyclopedia. The purpose of the program was to learn to write and to enrich Wikipedia entries related to the island of Kythnos.
OikoM Ltd participated in the creation of entries related to the nature of Kythnos, which were enrichened with photographs which were collected by its collaborators during their visits to the island. Landscapes, animals and plants from various locations were photographed, with an emphasis on the Natura 2000 protected area "Voreiodytiki Kythnos: Oros Atheras - Akrotirio Kefalos kai Paraktia Zoni (code: GR4220010).
OikoM created entries for the protected area, fauna, flora and tombolo formation of the island on Wikipedia, as well as entries on Wikispecies for the species Silene cythnia and subspecies Fritillaria obliqua subsp. tuntasia.

Moreover, OikoM Ltd director, Mr. Evangelos Pappas, delivered a speech at an open talk organized at the Kythnos town hall, on the 2nd of April 2022, in relation to the natural environment of the island. You can listen to the speech below:
