[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The\u00a0WikiKythnos project<\/strong>\u00a0was a\u00a0set of activities and workshops of an educational and collaborative nature<\/strong>, within the scope of the\u00a0Wikipedia\u00a0<\/strong>online encyclopedia. The purpose of the program was to learn to write and to enrich Wikipedia entries related to the island of\u00a0Kythnos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

OikoM Ltd participated in the creation of entries related to the\u00a0nature of Kythnos<\/strong>, which were enrichened with\u00a0photographs\u00a0<\/strong>which were collected by its collaborators during their visits to the island. Landscapes, animals and plants from various locations were photographed, with an emphasis on the Natura 2000 protected area “Voreiodytiki Kythnos: Oros Atheras – Akrotirio Kefalos kai Paraktia Zoni (code:\u00a0GR4220010).<\/p>\n

OikoM created entries for the\u00a0protected area<\/a>,\u00a0fauna<\/a>,\u00a0flora\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0tombolo formation<\/a>\u00a0of the island on Wikipedia, as well as entries on Wikispecies for the species\u00a0Silene cythnia<\/a><\/em>\u00a0and subspecies\u00a0Fritillaria obliqua subsp. tuntasia<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text]
