The study includes proposals for environmental protection areas in the region of the Hilarion Hydroelectric Station, in the middle course of the Aliakmon River, at Kozani and Grevena Regional Units, in implementation of Environmental Term 29.5 of JMD No. 130437/30.06.2003, as amended and currently in force by Decision No. ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΙΠΑ/61278/4011/24.06.2021 of the General Director for Environmental Policy of the Ministry of Environment & Energy (ADA: ΩΧΛΕ4653Π8-5ΝΗ), and according to Supplement No. 1 dated 09.01.2025 to Contract No. DIADP-00124366 (SAP No. 6300033735) dated 16.02.2024.
The objective of the study is the preparation of a special documentation report for the designation and legal establishment of protection terms for areas under the category “Protected Landscapes and Protected Natural Formations” of Law 4685/2020. The study specifically presents the potential for designating the area as a Protected Landscape, in relation to its particular ecological, geomorphological, and cultural characteristics.
